Francis X. Kelly, 81, of Springfield died Thursday at Danville Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville.

He was born Oct. 21, 1915, in Springfield, the son of Patrick S. and Mary Ann Elizabeth Penny Kelly. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Eileen Kelly in 1966, and his second wife, Helen Ursula Kelly, in 1994. Mr. Kelly, an Army Air Corps veteran serving in World War II, was employed by Fiat Allis until his retirement.

He was a member of Church of the Little Flower.

Survivors: two sons, Norman F. Kelly of San Jose, Calif., and Stephen Kelly of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Jan Inlow of Highland, Martha Nottingham of Fairfax, Va., and Barbara Caviness of Dewey; a stepson, John Isaacs of Texas; two stepdaughters, Norma Lou Woods of Jacksonville and Donna Reichart of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; several step-great-grand-children; a sister, Mary McDermott of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: Bisch and Son Funeral Home, the Rev. John Patrick Day officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
