Kaye, who we affectionately called "Nana", was born in May of 1915 as the last of 8 children to John Thomas Dawes of Broughton, IL and Johnnie Augusta Gause of Crockett.

She didn't ever know her father since he was murdered by land tenants when she was only about a year old. Those of us who knew ours must count that blessing every day.

She married Luke Edlund in 1934 and had their one child Sandra the following year. After moving the family over 70 times with Luke's Oil field career, she spent thousands of hours volunteering once they settled in Miles City.

We tried to keep your first born grandson on an honest and fair path Nana, but greed got the best of him and money mattered more than keeping his only family members left after Mom, Dad, you and Papa died. The world doesn't know this level of loss so can't possibly be expected to fathom how such a personal betrayal compounds the pain and suffering that has followed. We pray for an answer that doesn't involve more of the same, but only have our lifetimes to resolve such affairs. Who can grasp what more than one lifetimes worth of learning will amount to?

May you all rest in peace until we come home into your loving arms once again.
