Jerold served as a Fireman for the City of Hammond, IN retiring in 1972. He attended Fairview Missionary Church, Angola, IN and was a member of the Christ Community Evangelical Free Church in Hobart, IN.
Jerold leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Patricia Bauer of Angola; three sons: George W. (Ann) Bauer of LaPorte, IN, Russel Wright Bauer of Crown Point and Jerold Nickolas (Beth) Bauer of Indianapolis; step-son, William (Val) Prange of Arlington, TX; two daughters: Cynthia (John) Somers of Angola and Beth (Rob) Dawidiuk of Naperville, IL; two step-daughters: Barbara Pennington of Cedar Lake, IN and Amy (Peter) Rodrik of Alamo, CA; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hannah (Wright) Bauer; wife, Lois Bauer; one daughter, Lisa Bauer; one brother, Lt. George Bauer and two grandsons: Matthew and Michael Somers.
Jerold was a 32 Degree Mason; member of the Indiana State Fireman's Association and ex-member of the Orak Shrine Temple.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Weicht Funeral Home in Angola, IN. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Saltzman officiating. A Commital Masonic Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. CST/12:00 Noon EST, Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schereville, IN with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. CST/ 11:30 to 12:00 Noon EST before the service at the cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society . Arrangements by the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola. IN
