She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church Ladies Auxiliary to Barracks 1829 of Veterans of WWI and past worthy matron of Westminster Eastern Star Chapter 99
Surviving are a son Walter Lane McGrew of Norfolk and three sisters Mrs. Mary Thomas and Mrs. Florence Keller of Hampton and Mrs. Frances Wallace of Portsmouth. She is further survived by two brothers Delbert Nicholas and John Nicholas of Newport News and one grand daughter
