Mabel Veronica Gorman was born Sept. 16, 1888, near Castlewood. After reaching womanhood, she was employed in a printing firm at Wilmot. She married Lloyd Blood June 22, 1915, at Milbank. They made their first home in Waterloo, Iowa. They later lived at Summit and Castlewood before coming to Aberdeen in 1929.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tabitha Club, Senior Citizens Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Navy Mothers and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors in addition to her widower include four sons, Lawrence, of Madelia, Minn.; Chester, of St. Louis, Mo.; James, of Fremont, Calif., and Donald, of Lakeview, Ore.; four daughters, Mrs. Helen Rayfield, Mendato, Calif.; Mrs. Betty Walker, Castro Valley, Calif.; Mrs. Hazel Gilbertson, Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Dorothy Clabby, Mill Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. N. J. Hip, living in Canada, and Mrs. Helen Bonus, Des Moines, Iowa; and 20 grandchildren. One daughter preceded her in death.

Services for Mrs. Lloyd Blood, 72, of 907 7th Ave. S.E., were held Tuesday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. P. T. Monaghan officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matt Bauman, Alfred Kirchgasler, Rueben Liedle, Emmett Lenihan, Vivian Harris and John Becker. Mrs. Blood died Thursday at her home.
The Gates Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
