The census of 1870 shows two year old Jennie's parents living with Alvin T. Swain (age 54) and Sarah Swain (age 57). The relationship is unknown .. but perhaps .. these were the parents of her mother Elizabeth "Lizzie" M. unknown.
Elizabeth Homan married Harold on June 19th, 1895. They adopted a son whom they named Warren Critchlow.
Besides the normal duties of a Methodists minister's wife she was also the treasure for 14 years of The New England Southern Conference Womens Foreign Missionary Society.
Some Critchlow family records say Jennie's maiden name was Homer which is supported somewhat by an old 1870 census. But later public records (Obit) say it was Homan.
Family history also says her son Warren's middle name was his mother's maiden name. Captain Warren signed his draft registration in 1917 using Homan as his middle name.
