Noah W. Tohill died in his home in Dalton City Tuesday morning at 4:45 of a complication of diseases. He was 75 years old and was born in Crawford county, Il.,Aug. 11, 1840. Mr.Tohill came to Macon county while a young man and had lived in this part of the state since that time. He enlisted in the 21st Illinois in 1861 for three months. At the end of that time he mustered out in Springfield and re-en-listed in the 98th Illinois for three years. He received his discharge in Nashville, Tenn. June 27, 1865 and returned to Illinois.

He was a member of the GAR Casner lodge No 463, IOOF and the First United Brethren church of Dalton city.

He leaves his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Grace Massey of Dalton City, Otto Tohill and Ira Tohill of Dalton City, R. R. Tohill of Casner, Garfield Tohill of LaPlace, M. R. Tohill of Villa Grove, W. F. Tohill of Cottage Grove,Ind.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 oclock this afternoon in the First United Brethren church of Dalton city under the auspices of Casner lodge No.463, IOOF. The services will be in charge of Rev.J.W. Boggess of Decatur assisted by Rev.R.C.Mann of Dalton City. Burial will be in the Long Creek cemetery.
