Bauer reportedly was a member of the famous John Philip Sousa's band and is said to have served in the US Army. A carpenter by trade, Bauer was last employed by the W. R. Oyer Inc., Waynesboro. He is survived by five children, Jerome, Waynesboro; Joseph J., Elizabeth; Mrs. Hazel Rupert, Braddock Hills; Mrs. Laura Leonard, Braddock, and Mrs. Jessie Winters, Texas. Five grandchildren and these brothers and sisters, Andrew C. Bauer, Hawthorne; Charles Bauer and Crist Bauer, Clarion County; Mrs. Sophie Williams, Vandergrift; Miss Lizzie Bauer, Ringgold, Penna., also survive.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. George Weaver. Interment will be made in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at he funeral home.
