Junior Adkins, 86, of Racine died January 3, 2010, in CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, after a short illness.
He retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Plant, Charleston, and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a former member of the Chelyan Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Scottish Rite Bodies of Freemasonry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Katherine Canterbury Adkins, on May 29, 2003; great-grandson, Dakota Stapleton; parents, Berry and Bessie Eplin Adkins; two brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda O'Meara and her fiancé, Junior Bragg, of Hinton; sons, Charles J. Adkins and his wife, Rosemary, of Racine and David R. Adkins and his wife, Davina, of Racine; grandchildren, Robert L. O'Meara II, Amy Jo Stapleton, Lou Ann Jarrell, Jonathan Ray Adkins, Brittney Michelle Adkins, Christopher Lee Adkins, Roan Adkins, and Kaylee Stapleton; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Taylor O'Meara, Hannah Rose Stapleton, Brycen Jarrell and Jaydan Adkins; and great-niece, Betty Bostic.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet, with Pastor Bart Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
