Born to Argyle & Addie Narcissus "Sissy" Ringer McVay in Galla Rock Township, Yell county, Arkansas.

Harvey Hughey McVay was the youngest of 5 children. He married Mabel E Dees 30 December 1903 in Yell County, Arkansas.

They had four children, Loy (m) b 1906, Durah (f) b 1914, Audrel (m) b 1917, and Vernon Leon (m) b 1920.

There is a conflict of sorts on his middle name. He has ancestors named Hugh. His WW1 draft registration has his middle name as Hughey. He signed that one as H.H. McVay.
His WWII draft registration has his middle name as Huey.
He signed the card Harve Huey McVay.

Harve wouldn't be the first person to allow the government agency collection information to influence the spelling of their own name. If he was slightly educated he may have been told the proper way to spell his name with that pronunciation was Huey while his folks intended it to be Hughey in honor of a past relative.

Harve served as the Postmaster at Harjo, Okla for a while owning a general store there at the same time. Later he moved to Maud opening a second store there. Loy seemed to always live close-by his father.
