He was born in Hollis, OK on March 19, 1926 to Raymond Barry & Jennie (Wade) Barry. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1950. His military career began as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He served in the Korean & Vietnam wars earning numerous medals including the Silver Star, Bronze Star & Purple Heart. He earned three Masters Degrees in Meteorology, Jounalism & History. He was an accomplished golfer and won many club championships.
He is survived by wife Marjorie of 58 years; daughter Paula (Charles) Riebe; grandchildren Ben & Sam Riebe; sisters Anne & Elaine; and brother Lloyd.
Funeral Service, Monday, September 14, 12:30 p.m., Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Rd. A military burial will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Published in Denver Post on September 11, 2009
