Donald Long, 73, died January 4, 2010, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH after a lengthy illness. He was born on April 10, 1936 in Sedalia, MO, the son of the late Leslie and Margaret (Myers) Long.

Formerly of Chelsea and Wilmington, MA, Don had resided in Raymond, NH for the last 23 years. He served in the US Coast Guard from 1954-1958 and was employed for 34 years as lead mechanic for Sweetheart Plastics in Wilmington before retiring in 1998.

A Communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Epping, NH, Don was a talented artist who was skilled at oil, acrylic, and tole painting. He also enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for his family and was an avid NASCAR racing fan.

He was survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary H. (DeAngelis) Long of Raymond, NH; three daughters, Deborah Long of Wrentham, MA., Cheryl and her husband Dale Stancik of Derry, NH and Rhonda Long of Derry, NH; two sons, Donald L. Long of Nashua, NH and Edward and his wife Anne Long of Wilmington, MA; eleven grandchildren, Dale Jr., Joseph, Maryann, Amanda, Michael, Nicole, Kerrie, Stephen, Sara, Brian, and Johnny; his sister Beverly Marois of Randolph, VT; his brother, Leslie Long of Cleburne, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
