Jacob Anderson Abshire, age 58 died today at the family home on Middletown rural route 2 after an illness of six months.
He had been a resident of the Honey Creek community since infancy.
The body was taken to the Rector mortuary at Markleville and will be returned to the residence Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Bretheren church in Honey Creek, followed by burial in the Miller Cemetery.
Surviving are the widow, Bertha; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Stohler of Honey Creek and Mrs. George Bailey of Middletown; five sons, Frederick and Carlton at home; Robert of Middletown rural route 1, James of near New Castle, and Marvin of Mooreland; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Lines of Richmond and Mrs. Morris Griffin of Honey Creek; a brother, Veo C. Abshire of Middletown and seven grandchildren.
