J. M. Berthold and E. B. Mayes were called to San Antonio Wednesday by the serious and fatal illness of Henry Berthold, brother of the former. Mr. Berthold was attacked with dysentery recently, grew worse rapidly, and despite the efforts of the best physicians, succumbed to the disease. He was a young man, raised in this section, well and favorably known, and moved to San Antonio some time since, in which city he was employed. He was a member of Oakland camp, Woodmen of the World, and his body was buried under the auspices of the Oakland and Weimar camps at a cemetery [Miller Creek] several miles southeast of this city this (Friday) morning. The Mercury tenders sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved relatives and friends
