"We are sorry to announce the death of Mr. Thos. Kay, who died Saturday, July 27th, at 8 o'clock a.m. Mr. Kay was born in Chester County, Ky., in 1816. He united with the M. E. Church in 1831, and lived the life of a Christian until the time of his death. The funeral services took place at the house, and were conducted by Rev. Lane, after which the remains were interred in the Mowrystown Cemetery. In the death of Mr. Kay, the wife lost a kind husband, the children a loving father, and the community a good citizen."
