Johnstown Flood Victim∼Nancy Jane (Furry) Aaron and her daughter Flora drowned in the great Johnstown, Pennsylvania, flood. They had been visiting Nancy's sister, Mrs. R. Z. Replogle, in Johnstown, Pa. Without modern highways and today's vehicles, it was a two-day trip to Bedford and back for William Karns who went there to get the bodies of Nancy and Flora. It is unknown how the bodies were sent from Johnstown to Bedford. Although Although Nancy's husband Henry (Harry) was a member of the Methodist Episcopal faith, and it is believed that Nancy had converted to this faith, the funeral services had to be held in the Reformed Church in Loysburg as their own church was ruined by the flood in Loysburg, Pennsylvania.
