Elmer H. Amelung, 77, Washington, died Sunday, November 5, 2000, at his residence.
He was born July 17, 1923, at Washington, son of Emil C. Amelung and wife Cassilda, nee Bieker.
On June 1, 1948, he was united in marriage to Virginia Struckhoff at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington.
Mr. Amelung served his country as a corporal in the Army during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil C. Amelung and wife Cassilda; and by one sister, Marie Amelung.
Mr. Amelung is survived by his wife Virginia Amelung, nee Struckhoff; two sons, Terry Amelung and Mark Amelung, both of Washington; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 8, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington, with Father Pat Christopher officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Memorials to Franklin County Humane Society, St. Francis Borgia Food Pantry or St. Francis Borgia Church are preferred.
