VETERAN OF THE KOREAN WAR
U.S. AIR FORCE

❤ Harold "Buddy" Atwood jr was born to Pearl Allen Atwood Palmer and Harold Atwood sr on Aug. 20, 1936 in Wash. D.C. He has 1 sister Ramona Atwood Roach. He was a good child but had a few health problems. Once almost died when his appendix burst during surgery. After a few weeks, he got better. He married Brenda Atwood and they had 3 daughters and 1 son. He loved being a father and after work, he would come home and help take care of his children. Later Brenda and him were divorced.
He enlisted in the U.S. Airforce and was in the Korean war. He was stationed in Limerick Maine up near the canadian border. He did guard duty and it would get real cold there and deep snows when he was there and they would have to dig theirselves out. He also was in charge of supplys and sending them to the different troops all over. He even rode in the supply planes delivering the things. Everything from first aid to food to tanks he helped to deliver to Africa, Aisa, U.S.A. etc.
After his divorce from his 1st wife, he lived with his sister, her husband and their children. His 3 nephews and 1 niece adored their uncle Buddy and would look forward to him coming home from working with his brother in law Walker to play with them. He was like a big kid and loved spending time with them. Later when his nephews and niece married, their familys loved and adored Buddy and he loved them too. We all remained close even after he moved to Gastonia N.C. with his 2nd wife Bridget. He lived near our aunt Laura and our Uncle Bill and wife Francis. Buddy and his wife would come to MD to visit us, his children and our mom Pearl "Dee Dee" a few times a year and would hate to leave. He was a good provider and a great dad, husband, son, brother and uncle.
We all miss and love Buddy very much.

Died from cirrhosis of the liver.

Bio by Melissa as told to her by Buddys sister Ramona.
