Lucretia Marie Caudill Rogers, 94, of Hazard, departed this life on Sunday, March 2, 2008. She was born November 6, 1913, to the late William and Hettie Caudill of Blackey, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Clayton Rogers and her son, James Thomas Rogers. She is survived by one son, Leslie Harrison and his wife Audrey of Hazard, a daughter-in-law, Paula, of Hazard, and one sister, Harriett Combs of Hazard. She has six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, along with special friends. Marie attended Kentucky College for Women (Centre College), Oglethorpe University and later Georgetown College. She worked for over fifty years as a teacher and a social worker. Marie was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hazard. Services were held March 5, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Ellen Peach officiating. Interment followed at the Resthaven Cemetery. Maggard's Mountain View Chapel in charge of arrangements.
