James Leroy Morford, aged 85 years, a well known citizen, died at his home near Deep Valley, Friday, December 2, 1932, after an illness of several months. His death was due to heart trouble. He was a son of the late Isaac and Elizabeth Brown Morford, and was born in Springhill township November 23, 1847, where he spent his entire life. Mr. Morford was a successful farmer and stock raiser. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and the I. O. O. F. lodge at Aleppo. On February 25, 1866 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Berdine. Eight children survive; James B. Morford, of Dunn Station; Mrs. George B. (Annie) Hennen, of Jollytown; Valmy L. Morford, of Ninevah; Mrs. Haren (Elizabeth) Wolfe, of Wilkinsburg; Samuel M. Morford, of Pueblo, Col.; Mrs. Roscoa (Harriet) Whipkey, of Deep Valley; Daniel J. Morford and Mrs. William (Fannie) Ullom, of Wilkinsburg. He was preceded in death by two sons, John and Lewis Q. Morford.
