P.A. "Gus" Findley Jr., 69, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2010, in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Gus was born November 19, 1940, in St. Joseph, to Paul August Findley Sr., and Ruth Maude (Courten) Findley.

He was a 1958 graduate of Central High School in St. Joseph and a 1962 graduate of William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo.

Gus married Kristin Wallace on August 31, 1962, in St. Joseph. The couple started their family in Overland Park, Kansas, later moving to St. Joseph in 1978.

Gus was a member of the Unity Church of Practical Christianity in St. Joseph. He was a member of the St. Joseph Country Club, and the Benton Club of St. Joseph. He was a longtime member of the Elk's Lodge of St. Joseph, the Kansas City Club, and was a supporter of the Robidoux Residence Theater of St. Joseph. He was also an avid boat and car enthusiast.

Gus was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kristin in 1993; and his son, Paul August Findley III.

He is survived by his son, Andy Findley; his daughter, Allison Findley Cahill, and her husband, Mike; and three grandchildren, Jack, Molly and Regan.

His funeral was held at the Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston, Mo. His cremains were inurned at the Graceland Cemetery in Weston, Missouri.
