BONO, John B.
(1913 - 2010) John Battista Bono, born in Tulare, Calif., on June 24, 1913, to Massimo and Celesta Bono, died January 6, 2010. Graduating from high school at the age of 16, he continued to work on his father's dairy farm until he joined the military in 1942. While stationed in Denver, Colo., he married Anne M. Ferrero in 1945. Returning to California after his service they settled in Tulare until 1954 when they moved their family to Loomis. John was a self-employed fruit and poultry farmer. He was a lifelong member of Placer County Farm Bureau where he served as a board member for many years. Also, he was actively involved in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church where he was instrumental in the founding of the church. In 1994, his wife of 50 years preceded John in death. He is survived by his two daughters: Kathy and her husband Jeff Koester and their two children Ardella and Kirk, and Jo Ann and her husband Neal O'Donnell and their two children Casey and Kelly.
