Charles Benedict 1887-1962

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 21 for Charles H. Benedict, Dudley Township farmer who died at the Clearwater County Memorial Hospital, Thursday, April 19. The last rites were held at the Cease Funeral Home with Rev. Winston Grant officiating. Cease Funeral Home will supervise burial in the Bagley Village Cemetery.
Mr. Benedict was born at Tripp, South Dakota, on May 14, 1887. Parents were Harvey and Evadney Benedict. His first marriage in April of 1915, to Miss Jennie Louge. She died in April 1920.
He married Pearl Adsett on March 8, 1924, at Steele, North Dakota. That year they moved to North Dakota and in 1937 came to Clearbrook, Minnesota. In 1942, they went to Dudley township to operate a farm.
Survivors include his wife Pearl, children Verl Benedict of Elby, North Dakota and Lavina (Mrs. Howard McKinney) of Clearbrook; two step-children, Blanche (Mrs. Doris Spriggle in Washington; and Beulah, (Mrs. John Swerley) Newberg, Oregon.
Also among the surviving are two brothers, four sisters and eleven grandchildren.
Attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Verl Benedict of Edgeley, North Dakota; Gladys and Naomi Buck and Mrs. Maud Jackman of Bismarck, North Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hogel and Mr. and Mrs. Erling Olanson of Driscoll, North Dakota; and Mrs. Clell Rambough, Susan and Beverly of Braddock, North Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Verl Mausehund of Temvik, North Dakota; Mrs. Kenny Stringer of Tower City, North Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Benedict of Deer Creek, Minnesota; and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Doolittle, Clarence and Kenneth Benedict of Wisconsin.
