Claude Anderson, age 81, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 at his Odessa residence after a sudden and brief illness.

He was born November 17, 1927 in Moody, Texas to Albert Buck Anderson and Laura (Shepard) Anderson.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as an oilfield mechanic.

A loving husband and father, Claude was a good man. He knew the Bible well and was a member of the Baptist Church. He was always happy and very giving and enjoyed playing dominoes and cards.

Claude was a 33rd degree Scottish-Rite Mason.

He is survived by his wife: Mattie (Matthews) Anderson of Odessa; three sons: Rauie and Roy Dean Standbarry and Trey W. Anderson all of Odessa; six daughters: Catherine Johnson of Lubbock, Texas Marie Bailey of Tacoma, Washington, Cardelia Dixon of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jerry Tony, Mattie Justice, and Pamlia Johnson, all of Odessa; six brothers: Eriv L. Anderson, A. Y. Anderson, Charles Anderson, and Willie Anderson, all of Lubbock, Ed Anderson and S. R. Anderson, both of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters: Ruby Byers and Daisy Mae Anderson, both of Amarillo; twenty grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and many, many friends.
