Tyrone was the son of Edwin and Rachel Gillispie Gardner. He married Lola Mae Ryals on June 29, 1935, at Queen City, Missouri. After his marriage, he farmed northwest of Queen City and was employed with the Queen City Chevrolet Garage and the Jess White Mill in Queen City. Before his retirement in 1966 he was employed with the railroad for 25 years.
