John Moore died from pancreatic cancer - the same kind of cancer that took actor Patrick Swayze in 2009 several months prior to John's passing. The same kind of cancer that will eventually take the life of Steve Jobs, the creator of the Apple Computer Co. in 2011.

Pancreatic cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer death across the globe! It doesn't care how rick and famous you are. It doesn't care how smart or creative you are. And...it doesn't care how nice of a person you are.

According to the American Cancer Society, almost the same number of people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer as die from it each year: The American Cancer Society estimates that "44,030 new cases of pancreatic cancer are expected to occur in the US in 2011" while "37,660 deaths are expected to occur" in the same year.

Even for those diagnosed before the disease has spread beyond the pancreas, there is only a 23 percent five-year survival rate, the American Cancer Society notes.

It is time to STOP the spread of this kind of cancer and ALL cancers! We need more money put into research. But we also need people to be more careful about thier own health. NOT smoking is one of those things. Cigarette smoking adds a risk ratio of 1.74.

According to the American Cancer Society, there are no established guidelines for preventing pancreatic cancer, although cigarette smoking has been reported as responsible for 20–30% of pancreatic cancers. That says a lot.
