Roy was a friend of mine from about 7th grade, in the 60s. We both lived in Lakewood. We would go swimming sometimes at his apartment building, his parents were really nice. For a while there, him and his parents had a little monkey who ran around in a diaper. Eventually my mother moved us to Rocky River. Soon after, his parents moved to Rocky River II and we both went to the same high school for a short time.

Then Roy decided to go into the Navy and left high school. I graduated and a few years later in 72. In January 1975, I went out to stay with him for a few months, and get out of the winter. Roy was stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk. It was at Coronado, North Island in San Diego California. He went on Westpac.

We stayed friends, but I decided to stay in San Diego for the next 28 years. We lost touch, there was no Internet then. I googled him one day and found out he died, and found this memorial. They kindly transferred to me, so I could make it unique to Roy. There was another picture of Roy and me together, in hippie clothing and I hope I can find it and share. Peace Roy. You were fun, you were a wild character when you were young. Driving around in your parents red Mustang, drinking, having a wild time. I miss you buddy.
