Bettye Lee Oden Walker Allen, went to "walk" with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 11, 2010.
Bettye was born in Wichita Falls on March 14, 1931 to Robert Dewey Lee Oden and Beatrice Rebecca Hillman. She lived most of her life in Wichita Falls. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1948. She worked at the T.G. & Y Family Center on Old Iowa Park Road from the day it opened until it closed. She also worked in the accounting office of Hamilton Bryan until her retirement. She and Carl Leslie Walker were married in 1948 and from that union came their three sons. She was later married to John Loomis Allen from 1960 to 1974.
Bettye was devoted to her Lord Jesus Christ for more than 60 years and was a faithful prayer warrior for others. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls. She worked as a volunteer for the Rape Crisis Center and the Family Crisis Center for several years answering phones. Also, making visitations for FBC with Cecil Streich and Guy Dunn. She greatly missed her opportunity to attend regular services and classes in recent years due to her immobility.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 1200 9th Street, Wichita Falls at 10:00am Thursday, January 14th, 2010. Intermittent will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughn.

Bettye was preceded in death by her parents Lee (TaTa) & Beatrice (BeBe) Oden, and her loving sister, Patsy Gabbert.

Survivors include her sons:
Steve Walker, Wayne Walker and Jerry Walker and wife Cindy all of Wichita Falls
Grandchildren, Shanda Keating & husband Chris, Laura Walker, Jennifer Michelle Walker & Ashley Walker-Evans; Jennifer Kay Walker & husband Eric, Julie Hernandez & husband Joe, Jackie Walker and Jason Crawford; DeAndra West & husband Eric, Erik Smith Walker, Kevin Patterson and wife, Rebekah and Steven Patterson and wife Rachel; 13 great grandchildren
She is also survived by her sister, Mary Lile, and her brother, Bob Oden and wife, Alice, and many other extended family members. The family would also like to remember a few of her close and dear friends, Joyce Murdock, Mary Lou Harmon and Tommye Harmon, as well as many more.

Pallbearers for the funeral service will be Erik Smith Walker, Steven Patterson, Eric West, Jason Crawford, Eric Walker, Steve Allen, Brent Brown, and Brandon Brown.

Bettye (Mimi) will be greatly missed but we are comforted that being absent from her broken body she is now walking with the Lord. She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and best friend. She was always prayerful for the well being and salvation of her large family.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls or Grace Church Building Fund, 5214 Stone Lake Drive, Wichita Falls, TX 76308 in her name. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and her community of friends and fellow Christians at church and at Lakeridge Retirement Center.
