"LaJuana Faye Denney, 60, of Whiteville, TN, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at her sister's home in Hernando, MS."
"She was born in Hardeman County, July 16, 1947, the daughter of the late James J Smith Jr and Opal Majors Smith and lived in Indiana from 1967-91 when she moved back to this area. She married Ollie Alford Denney and he preceded her in death in 1997."
"She was a graduate of Edison High School in Lake Station, Indiana, and attended Rocky Springs Baptist Church near Rogers Springs."
"Survivors include four girls whom she raised, a step-daughter, Kecia Wixted of Fort Wayne, two daughters, Brenda Dillon of Whiteville, TN, and Belinda Melvin of Otwell, and a niece Syrena Smith of Memphia; three sisters, Cathy Brown of Hobart, Sheila Green and Elizabeth Smith, both of Hernando, MS; three brothers, James D Smith of Henry, TN; Sam Smith of Portage, and Steven Smith of Lake Station, and 13 grandchildren."
"She was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Smith."
"Funeral services were at 2 pm Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Bolivar, TN, with Skippy Rowland officiating. Burial was in Parrans Chapel Cemetery."
