Samuel Tharp, an aged citizen of Richhill township, died at his home near Wind Ridge, Wednesday night, June 29, aged 87 years. His death was due to a stroke of paralysis. He was a well known farmer. Besides his wife he leaves the following children: D. M. Tharp of Wind Ridge, R. D. 2; Levi Tharp, of Sugar Grove; Perry Tharp, of Ohio; Mrs. Laura Greer, of Sugar Grove; Mrs. A. J. Polen, of Ryerson Station, and Mrs. Samuel McVey, of Cameron, W. Va. The funeral was held Saturday, at 10 a.m. Interment in family cemetery.

Samuel's 2nd wife was Nancy Wendell Wright Tharp who is buried at West Union, Greene, PA, and was the daughter of Cyrus Wendell and was first married to Obed Wright.
