Lorenzo is the son of William Calvin Miller and Rebecca Ellen McKeehan. He married abt 1908 to his 1st wife Louisa (nee unknown); their son Henry was born in 1909 in Kentucky.

12 Sep 1918, Lorenzo registered for the WWI Draft as the law required. He is age 32 and is observed to be short in stature, of stout build with black eyes and dark hair. He is a miner and is employed by a Willis Hickey in Walden, Whitley County. He says his closest relative is Calvin Miller (his father), who, in 1918, lives in Altoona, Etowah, Alabama. Lorenzo does not mention a wife or child at this time; however this information is not requested on this particular form and he is living with wife and son in 1920 Census.

When Lorenzo dies in 1940, his occupation is Fireman and he is married to Julie Woolum, age 33, dau of John Woolum and Mary Belle Boles of Pineville, Bell County, KY. The informant on the death record is his brother Frank.

Lorenzo died from what seems to be complications of injuries from "a fall on ice, on Jan 13" in 1940, which "caused injury to his right femural (blood) vessels." Within 10/12 days, he developed broncho-pneumonia, gangrene in his LEFT leg from the knee down, and Pulmonary Emboli [blood clots in the lung(s)]. No indication if the original injury occurred while his was acting in the capacity of his job as a fireman ??.

Thru his maternal line (Rebecca E McKeehan), Lorenzo is a 5th generation descendent of family founders Ben McKeehan and Mary Hickey, who were farmers that settled in Kentucky abt 1810. Here they raised their (8) children, who then did the same. The McKeehans multiplied in South East Kentucky for about 100 years. Many descendents still live in this area, unlike my grandfather and family who relocated to California. Lorenzo is a 3rd cousin to my father Ralph Edward McKeehan.
