He attended school in Jewell County and married Madeleine Driggs June 4, 1952.
Elvin was employed as a kiln operator with Ideal Basic Industries for34 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Shirley Ann, Sept. 16, 1959; and a brother, Delwyn Platt.
Survivors include his children, Emma McKinney and Glenn Platt, both of Superior, David Platt, Louisville, Ky.; Marvin Platt and Linda Cox, both of Hastings; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, with the Rev. Jon Albrecht
officiating. Interment was in the Burr Oak Cemetery.
