Catherine Elizabeth Gleitz, 85, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Harrison Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.

She was born in Corydon, IN on March 15, 1924, the daughter of Oliver Howard and Ellen Bickel Keller. She was a newspaper carrier for 29 years and a farmer.

She was a homemaker and an excellent cook and gardener. She was a 4-H leader for the Country Neighbors 4-H Club, was a member of Heidelburg United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by her husband, James E. Gleitz of Corydon, IN; three sons, Larry Gleitz (Dottie) of Covington, KY, Roger Gleitz (Doris) of Leavenworth, IN, Ralph Gleitz (Jill) of Rockford, IL; two daughters, Karen Humphrey (Terry) of Louisville, KY, Nancy Allen (Steve) of Perrysville, IN; one sister, Rose Anna Gleitz (Verne) of Corydon, IN; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at the Heidelberg United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Monday. Rev. Gary Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon on Sunday from noon - 6 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the service.

The family suggests memorial gifts be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or to her church.
