MOON, JR., J. P. "JIM"; James Perry "Jim" Moon, Jr., 73, of Littlefield, TX, formerly of Dallas, passed from this life February 28, 2006 in Littlefield. He was born February 18, 1933 in Dallas to the late James Perry Sr. and Elizabeth Stephens Moon. Jim graduated from Dallas Crozier Tech High School in 1951 and SMU in 1955. He married Nancy Okeson September 8, 1965 in Dallas.
He was an Insurance Agent for over 40 years until his retirement in 2004. Jim was an avid hunter and skeet shooter, serving as a past President of the Texas State Skeet Shooters Association, served as President and was on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Safari Club and a former member of the Dallas Gun Club. Mr. Moon also served as a past President and was on the Board of Directors for the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Center for the Developmentally Disabled for many years. Jim was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of the Firewheel Bible Fellowship, which was formerly Reinhardt Bible Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Moon of San Antonio and Sara Lichte and husband Kenan of Littlefield, Texas; five grandchildren, Keely and A.J. White, Abby Brogan and Cable Lichte; and one sister Jane Evans and husband Jim of Dallas, He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy on January 22, 2004.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Firewheel Bible Fellowship in Dallas. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday, March 3, 2006 at Restland Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made to the American Parkinsonism Society, 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305.
