Vera E. Spahr, 92

Vera E. Spahr, 92 of Warren, died at 8:15 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 209 at Heritage Pointe in Warren.

Mrs Spahr was born on Dec. 9, 1917, in Grant County to Frank and Lovie (Roush) Schweikhardt. She married George A. Spahr on Oct. 21, 1936 in Jackson Township, Wells County; he preceded her in death Dec. 17, 2009.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Marcia (Wendell) Jackson of Warren; three sons, David A. (Wanda) Spahr of Warren, Max (Lois) Spahr of Warren and Dan (Pam) Spahr of Bethpage, Tenn; and a brother, Norman (Peggy) Schweikhardt of Warren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin, Fred and Boyd Schweikhardt.

Calling will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009. at the Solid Rock United Methodist Church, 227 N. Main St., Warren. Graveside services and burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:15 a.m on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 at the Solid Rock United Methodist Church in Warren.

Mrs. Spahr was a 1935 graduate of Warren High School. She was a homemaker and resident of Wells and Huntington County. She was a very active church member at the Solid Rock United Methodist Church in Warren. She was also a member of the Chautauqua Reading Club, Huntington County Extension Homemakers, United Methodist Women and enjoyed ceramics and painting. She had been a resident of the Heritage Pointe since 2005.

She married George A. Spahr on October 21, 1936 in Jackson Twp-Wells County who passed away on December 17, 2009 She was the daughter of the late Frank and Lovie (Roush) Schweikhardt.

Survivors include Daughter-Marcia (Husband, Wendell) Jackson of Warren, Sons-David A. (Wife, Wanda) Spahr of Warren,Max (Wife, Lois) Spahr of Warren, Dan (Wife, Pam) Spahr of Bethpage, Tenn., Brother-Norman (Wife, Peggy) Schweikhardt of Warren, 15-Grandchildren, 40-Great Grandchildren, 5-Great Great Grandchildren and a Sister-In-Law-Berniece Schweikhardt of Warren.

She was preceded in death by her Husband-George A. Spahr, Father-Frank Schweikhardt, Mother-Lovie (Roush) Schweikhardt, Brothers-Franklin Schweikhardt, Fred Schweikhardt and Boyd Schweikhardt.
