The Wookie was my sister's parakeet, and he was one of the most amazing parakeets I ever heard. He was just a little green bird from Woolworths. but was a fantastic talker. He used to run side to side on his perch saying "Diddley-diddley" and when his green plastic parakeet got in the way, he would say "Can you diddle with a greeny in the middle?" Other words he said were, "It's the roostin'", "Scratch yella beard"; "It's the Wookie; pretty Wookie, pretty weird." He would also talk to his beloved yellow bell, saying "Yella bell, yella, yellabell, yellabell, yellabell". He would also say, "What you doing?" and he would say it at an appropriate time!

He was very friendly, never bit anyone, and would let his owner scratch his head and neck. Everyone who ever met him laughed at his good speech and fell in love with the Wookie.

His friends, family, and fans were heartbroken when he became suddenly ill and died.
