Mrs. Sarah A Byrd, wife of Walter Byrd, died at their home near Riddle Tuesday, November 30, following a protracted illness of almost eight years duration; age 69 years, 1 month and 29 days. She was united in marriage to Walter Byrd, February 18, 1877. To This union were born four children; Mary Alice Totten, Garrison M. Byrd, Bertha Lee Brown, and John E. Byrd.
She joined the Christian church several years ago and lived a faithful Christian life. Surviving are her husband, four children, one sister, Mrs. Mary E Schardein, of Hatfield, Mo., one brother, G. M. Wright, of Riddle; one half-sister, Mrs Julia Ballard, also of Riddle; sixteen grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at Riddle, Wednesday afternoon by Elder Leonard Cummins, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
