Laura was born in the summer of 1900, the second child and daughter of Ira Howell and Mary Windham Hearn. Laura was sister to one brother, Charlie. She married Andrew Jackson Holt and the family had seven children. Some of her family stayed in the area but at least one daughter moved to Indiana after marrying. Laura had at least 21 grandchildren, and passed away in 1948. She has a double headstone with her husband which reads "Holt"as well as a footstone with her own information.
