Death of E. DeHaven
Elwood DeHaven, an old and well known citizen of Reynoldsville, departed this life at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, October 8th. The immediate cause of death was heart trouble. The deceased was born in Montgomery county, Pa., July 19th, 1828, making him over 71 years old at time of death. He was married to Rebecca Thompson, sister of W.A. Thompson, the tailor of this place, at Bellefonte. They moved to Reynoldsville about 28 years ago.
Mr. DeHaven was a cabinet maker, but had been unable to do any work for about nine years. His wife died eight years ago. He is survived by three sons and two daughters, as follows: Robert DeHaven, Reading, Luther DeHaven, Bradford, Mrs. Mary Hartman, Reynoldsville, Alfred DeHaven, Brookville, and Mrs. Abbie Roll, Johnsonburg.
Funeral services were held in the M.E. church at 2:30 yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.C. McEntire, and interment was made in Beulah cemetery.
