WILLIAM BAILEY DIES--Services Set Tuesday For Christopher Man
William H. Bailey, 63, of 606 S. Thomas St. , Christopher, died at 11 a.m. Sunday in Marshall Browning Hospital, Du Quoin.

He was a resident of Christopher for 22 years. A retired mine superintendent, he was formerly with Old Ben #14 and Old Ben # 9 at West Frankfort. He was born in England, April 26, 1899, and was a veteran of the British Army in World War I. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Methodist Church in Christopher.

He leaves his wife, the former Winifred Scott; sons, William C. of Belleville and David Bruce at home; daughter Mrs. Patricia Kay Szczebleweski of Alexandria, LA; sister, Mrs. Elsie Sigley of England, and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday (Jan 1) at the Gilbert Funeral Home, Christopher, the Rev. John All offciating, Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Du Quoin. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6:30 p.m. today (Dec. 31) with Masonic services held a 7:30 p.m. today.
