Mr. Hughes was born April 15, 1902. He was the son of the late Jarrot Hughes and Mrs. Ida Hughes. Mr. Hughes was the husband of Mrs. Mamie Sue Baker Hughes of Warren.
He had been the owner of Hughes Cafe and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Hughes was a member of the Board of Stewarts.
Other survivors besides his wife include one brother, Homes Hughes of El Dorado; and one sister, Mrs. Mildred Duke, of Memphis, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 13, at the Chapel of frazer's Funeral Home by Rev. Charles Ramsay. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers are Maudrell Ferguson, Forrest Girdner, Buddy McCaskill, Jim Phillips, Floyd Reep, and Rex Vick. Honorary pallbearers are John McCaskill, Perry Herrign, John Scobey, Bernie Hargis, Floyd Richardson, Bill Love, Cy Nelson, Marion Rowland, and the Men's Bible Class of the First Methodist Church.
Ladies in charge of the flowers will be members of Chapter AF, the PEO Sisterhood.
