Lucille Clapp, 90, of Charles City, died Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Cedar Health in Charles City.

Lucille Edna Beckwith Clapp was born April 17, 1919, at Charles City, the daughter of Glen and Mary (Tynan) Beckwith. She received her education at the Immaculate Conception School. On November 27, 1934 she was united in marriage to Stanley Clapp. Over the years she was a housekeeper in various homes at Charles City.

Lucille was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Catherine Circle, Moose Lodge and Ladies of the Moose. She enjoyed dancing, sewing and house cleaning.

Living family members include two children, Merlyn (Margaret) Clapp of Charles City and Carol (John "Jay" Caneff) Patterson-Caneff of Hastings, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Heather (Sam) Hanson, Jonathon (Liz) Patterson, Susan (Mort) David, Vernon (Tracey) Clapp, Mary Elin, Bertha (Mike) Lambright and Kevin (Tonya) Clapp; 16 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren and many step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on March 7, 1978; two sisters, Lola Harms and Marvel Leon; and a brother, Donald Beckwith.

CHARLES CITY —Lucille Clapp, 90, of Charles City, died Sunday (Jan. 10, 2010) at the Cedar Health in Charles City.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Charles City, with the Rev. Carl Ries, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the church.
