"Jeffrey "Jeff" S. Kindell, 53, of Hillsboro, Ind., died at 8:10 p.m. EST Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Jeff was born in Crawfordsville, Ind., on July 14, 1956. He was the son of William H. and Lois E. Shepherd Kindell of Austin, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Fountain County, graduating from Covington High School in 1975. He moved to Hillsboro in 1997. Jeff worked as a heavy equipment operator for Schomburg & Schomburg Company in Danville, Ill., since 1975.

Jeff was a member of the sons of the American Legion Post in Crawfordsville and Fountain Lodge No. 60 F. & A.M. He is survived by three children, Jason Kindell of Lafayette, Ind., Rebecca (Jason) Story of Covington, Ind., and Joseph Kindell of Covington; a brother, Brian (Sabrina) Kindell of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; a niece; a nephew; and his companion of nine years, Deborah Sanders.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Maus Funeral Home in Hillsboro. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. with the funeral service to follow, with Pastor Paul Kent officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Illini Steam & Power Association."
