JACKSON - Ruby Irene Jons Burruss, 76, homemaker, died of complications from a stroke Tuesday morning at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with burial in Beech Bluff Cemetery. She was a member of Beech Bluff Baptist Church where she was in the Sunshine Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Diamond Grove Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Burruss, the widow of Alvy Brown Burruss, leaves a daughter, Wanda Austin, and a son, Harold Wayne Burruss, both of Beech Bluff; five sisters, Sadie Hallman of Henderson, Nashie Blankenship of Lexington, Jessie Jones of Bemis, Catherine Curran of Alamogordo, N.M., and Mary Alice Smith of Peoria, Ill.; two brothers, Tommy Jones of Saulsbury and Walter Jones of Mayfield, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
