He was born in Limestone County, AL and was a son of the late W. Walter and Minnie Slaton Edge.
He was retired as a computer analyst and was a former security officer with American Security; Past Master of Campbell Masonic Lodge #44, a member of First Baptist Church, and a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Surviving are two sons, Phillip Edge of Laurens and Steve Edge of Alabama; one brother, Roy Edge of Alabama; one sister, Jane Cox of Alabama; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Alisha Edge and two great-grandchildren, Bryant and Hunter.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 16th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with a crypt side service in Pinelawn Memory Gardens with Masonic Rites.
