Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday in United Methodist Temple. Additional services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Texline. Burial will be in Texline Cemetery in Texline by Levingston Funeral Home of Groves.
Mr. Cline was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Harmon County, Okla., to Ransom Henry Cline and Mary Winifred Kite Cline. He was a resident of Port Arthur for 15 years and member of the Wesley Class at United Methodist Temple. He was a retired self-employed mechanic and also worked as a carpenter, REA lineman and for the Civilian Conservation Corps.
He was past president of Texline Lions Club and past deputy district governor of Lions District 2-T1.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Annette Evans Cline; and a sister, Mary Lee Cleveland.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Etheredge and husband George of El Paso; two sons, Ray Cline and wife Janet of Port Arthur and Dean Cline and wife Joann of Lawrenceville, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Joey Etheredge IV, Troy Etheredge, Kay Etheredge, Roger Cline, Marty Cline, Greg Cline and Deanna Cline; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to United Methodist Temple, 4101 Highway 73 Port Arthur, TX 77642-2214; American Heart Association, 2514 82nd St., Suite B, Lubbock, TX 79423; or First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 207, Texline, TX 79087-0207.
