Lawrence J. Cluck, 77, 221 W. Second St., Waynesboro, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Waynesboro Hospital 9:40 a.m. Sunday. He had been found in his garage a short time earlier overcome by carbon monoxide gas.

A native of Adams County, he was the son of the late Jacob and Ida Mickley Cluck.

The family moved to Mont Alto when he was 12 years old. He and Mrs. Cluck had made their home in Waynesboro since their marriage in 1931. After moving from Mont Alto, Cluck was employed with Frick Co., for 10 years and prior to his retirement in 1957, he had worked as a machinist at the Landis Tool Co. for 29 years.

He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and the Yost Bible Class of the church, a social member of the American Legion and served as treasurer of the Mora Club for a number of years and was a member of AARP of the UMCA.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mabel C. Benchoff Cluck; a son, Glen E. Cluck, Waynesboro; a sister, Mrs. Laura Kurokawa, Hawaii, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with Rev. William R. Swisher, officiating. Interment will be made in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. Friends may call at the Grove Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
