Mrs. Rose Jean Brinker, of Imlay City, recently of Lapeer, passed away at the venerable age of 85 years 5 months 7 days after an extended illness on Monday, September 15, 2014, at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility (Suncrest).

Rosetta Jean Anspaugh, the daughter of Lee and Alpharetta Anspaugh, was born April 8, 1929, in Dryden, Michigan, and grew up in the Imlay City area graduating with the Class of 1949 from Imlay City High School.

She had graduated from the Port Huron Business School. There in Port Huron, she had played on the college girls’ basketball team.

Miss Rosetta Jean Anspaugh was united in marriage with Mr. Joseph Henry Brinker on March 31, 1951, in Imlay City. Rose was a homemaker, lovingly raising her six children.

Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Imlay City and participated in the Sacred Heart Altar Society and later with the Society of Hope and Charity in Imlay City.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and fishing.

Visitation for family and friends of Mrs. Brinker will be held from 2:00-5:00 and again from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16th at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City. A Rosary Service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Imlay City. Reverend Father John "Doc" Ortman will officiate.

Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Imlay City.
