Obituary Mrs. Otis Poe.
Ina M. (Reed) Poe, daughter of John W. and Melvina Reed, was born in Scotland County near Memphis, Missouri, November 28, 1880 and departed this life March 26, 1949, at her home near Downing, Missouri at the age of sixty-eight years, three months and twenty-eight days.

She was united in marriage to Otis E. Poe on February 5, 1902 who preceded her in death January 20, 1945. To this union six children were born, three of whom preceded her in infancy.

Three sisters, Lina Cook, Addie Mustoe and Nan McRobert; two brothers, Peter Reed and Port Reed, also preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons, Forest and Eugene, one daughter, Mrs. Faye Jackson, all of Downing; eight grandchildren, Bob and Bill Poe, Vernon, Ina Mae, Clara Faye and Dotty Jackson, and Dale Poe, all of Downing, and Mrs. Nellie Lee Woodruff of Argyle, Iowa; one great grandchild, Tamara Lynn Woodruff; one sister, Mrs. Grace Riley, of Downing; one brother, W.W. Reed of Lancaster and a host of other relatives and friends.

In early life she united with the Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Hill, later transferring her membership to the Downing Presbyterian Church. She was a charter member of the Ariel Rebekah Lodge of Downing. She was a loving wife and mother, and was always ready and willing to help her neighbors and friends in sickness or death as long as her health permitted.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday by Rev. V.A. Venezia. Songs were sung by Dee Rife, Harry West. Mrs. H.H. Lewis and Mrs. Charles Ballew, with Mrs. Carl Drummond as pianist. Songs sung were "Never Alone," "Shall We Meet Beyond the River," and "There'll Be No Tears In Paradise." A short burial service was held at the grave by the Rebekah lodge. Pallbearers were Charles Ballew, L.D.Botts, John Fincher, T.C. Ketchum, Vernon Cook and Leland Ketchum. Flower girls were sister members of the Rebekah lodge: Doris Fountain, Reta Wineinger, Edith Ross, Effie Brill, Berniece Powell, Gloria Fincher, Ella B. Botts and Dorothy Jackson. Interment was in the Downing cemetery.
