"YOUNG CHILD DEAD"

"Walter Joseph, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude (John Claude) Penton, died yesterday at 12:15 o'clock at the family residence on Back Bay. The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock interment being made in the Biloxi cemetery."

Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Records, Book 5, pg 3: Walter was 1 year, 6 months, 6 days old when he died his home at the Gorenflo Factory Camp from "acute nephritis". Father John Claude was from Monroe Co., Al., and mother, Lena Williams, was from Choctaw Co., Al.
